  2. Please support DMARC on Mailgun and make it easy to deploy

-Please support DMARC on mailgun, and make it easy to deploy.
    - Generate useful TXT entries (just like you already do for SPF and DKIM)
    - Handle the DMARC reports
    - Present DMARC reports in your control panel after decoding the ZIPed XML files the providers send.
    - Convert DMARC failures (and successes?) into web hooks, events and log entries.

  3. Invite new users/roles to specific domain(s)

Recently you introduced invitation of new users and assigning them roles.
In addition to "roles" i would like to see that these invitations/roles can also be limited to specific domains.

  4. An official mailgun slack app integration

It would be nice if mailgun had an official slack app , so that we can automatically post delivery or perhaps analytics based details to certain channels for I.T and Ops teams to review , that do not have access to the Dashboards or the mailgun admin website.

The current webhook service area does not work with slack's interpretation of what a webhook should post (in terms of tokens) and is not useful as a result.

  5. Multiple API Keys

Option to have multiple API keys, for example: client 1 has the API key exposed, we now have to roll this key, and update all clients using it.

Whereas, if we had multiple keys, we'd only need to roll and update that one client using the key.

  6. Manage multiple accounts with the same email

There is a way to create multiple logins for the same Mailgun account but we can't reuse an existing account. The error message is:

Error: Unable to invite user. User already exists

We need a way to manage multiple accounts under the same email, not having this is a total nightmare :\ We have this in Stripe, Twilio, SendGrid, Mailchimp, etc ...

There is no way I will ask my clients to forward me the "passcode" everytime I need to login on my client's account.

    Hey y’all,

I hear you on the frustrations here. Unfortunately just about everything account related is tied back to user who created the account and their email address, which is currently a unique mapping across Mailgun, so it’ll take a bit of work to allow this functionality.

Until we’re able get this implemented, the workaround I use is plus addressing. For example, cfarmer+account1@mailgun.com and cfarmer+account2@mailgun.com allows me to essentially create multiple accounts using the same email (activation and notification emails will be delivered to cfarmer@mailgun.com). The majority of the major Mailbox Providers (Gmail and MSFT included) support this.

  7. Add PayPal payments

Allow customers to pay via PayPal.

  8. Flex plan needs some way to use inbound routes feature

With the introduction of the the Flex plan and the elimination of the free plan the "Inbound Routing" feature is no longer available for the entry level plan.

This broke a major use case for Mailgun as routes are an essential feature even for low mail volume accounts.

$35 to acquire mail routing is just infeasible when you only use 200 e-mails per month.

Mailgun needs to somehow allow Flex plan users to either have a pay-per-use for routing or make it available outright. Otherwise you are saying you do not really need these low volume customers.

  9. Provide option to send Non-Delivery Reports to the original Sender

Mailgun bounce processing works great when a single sender is sending email to a broad audience. It does not work well when there are many original senders each with their own list of contacts.

    Scenario:
    - Company with 10 to 1000 employees.
    - Company switches from a traditional in-house mail solution to Mailgun for all outgoing email.
    - John, a typical employee in the organization, sends email to a customer, but spells the address wrong.

    Traditional in-house system behaviour:
    - John would get a Non-Delivery Report letting him know of his mistake. John would fix his mistake, and re-send the…

  10. Per-link analytics for click tracking

Being able to track opens and clicks and consume that data via the Analytics dashboard is awesome. However, most emails that we send out contain multiple links - e.g. for account activation, homepage, featured blog post, social links, etc.

I would like to be able to have analytics on a per-link basis. Mailchimp allows this, see https://i.imgur.com/2iIocrv.png.

  11. Forwarding of auto-responses sent to the return-path

Delayed bounce messages sent to the return path are correctly processed by Mailgun (if the MX records are set).

But other kind of messages sent the return path address, like vacation or out of office auto-responses are simply ignored and dropped.

It would be great to be notified when an auto-response is sent to the return path address, by forwarding and/or using a webhook.

  12. Allow for Shorter SMTP Credentials

t is important to us as a customer to be able to edit our SMTP credentials. Our system is limited to a password character max of 8 characters. I respect you security effort in generating a very long password but, this will not work for us. Please pass this on to those who need to know. Thank you so much for your consideration is this matter.

  13. Add settings for "Not delivering to previously bounced address" error

A few days ago one of our users got into suppression list because Google (for some unknown reason) hard bounced his CORRECT email. We have doublechecked it and it works alright. Each time Mailgun received hard bounce, it adds the bounced email into suppression list. But sometimes innocent users are getting there too.

So, please add a feature/setting "Hard bounce attempts required to move email into the suppression list", with increasing cooldown, starting from 600 seconds, or something similar. So if it's a wrong email, it will be hardbounced three times and suppressed; it is a result of some bug…

    Hi all,

We had some delays due to needing to update dependencies on some of our supporting platforms, but we’ve completed that work and are starting to focus on development for SAML SSO. Can y’all give me an idea which IdP’s y’all are using, or which ones you think would be critical?

These are currently on our short list:
    - ADFS
    - AWS IAM
    - Google Cloud’ Identity Platform
    - Microsoft Identity Platform
    - Auth0
    - OneLogin

  17. Extract the original sender of a forwarded email

How can I get the address of the original sender, when an email has been forwarded to Mailgun?

The chain of events looks like this:

    originalSender sends message to someUser
    someUser forwards message to Mailgun
Mailgun POSTs a parsed message to my server
    Put in another way:

    orignalSender (send)-> someUser (forward)-> mailgun (POST)-> myserver

The best I could get is doing a regex on the "body-plain" property.
The problem is that email clients do send this differently. Here are two examples.

Forwarding from GMail (I added the ...):

    body-plain: "---------- Forwarded message ----------\r\nFrom: Kalle Kalleson <kalle.kalleson@mail.com>\r\nDate: 2014-02-13\r\n ..." …

  18. Add option to move tracking pixel to beginning of email

Our platform allows users to generate emails and send them. Some of them are quite long, and end up being truncated by email clients like Gmail. This results in open events not being tracked for many of the emails, since the tracking pixel is at the bottom and the email was truncated. It would be great to be able to optionally move the tracking pixel to the beginning of the email.

  19. U2F 2 Factor Auth (Yubikey)

Implement U2F/Yubikey support for 2 factor auth.

This will enable people who can't use their phones in the office, but can use hardware tokens, to take advantage of the 2 factor auth you just implemented.

  20. Support 3D Secure Visa for Payment

There is currently not any support for credit card payments that have an extra factor of authentication (specifically VISA 3D Secure Authentication, in this case).
Stripe provides documentation on how to add this support within their integration: https://stripe.com/docs/payments/3d-secure
