  1. Add ability to subscribe a route email address to a mailing list

I would love to be able to add a route address to a mailing list. That would let me be subscribed with an address that matches the domain of the list, and lets me send to that list with that matching domain rather than a different one.

  2. Do not forget about the original To recipient when forwading emails through mailinglists

When a mailing list is forwarding emails, it replaces the To recipient with the list recipient. But if the original To user was not the mailing list itself, the original recipient is lost and list users won't see him in their copy of the email.

    Incoming email:
    To: random_user@example.com
    Cc: mailinglist@example.com

    Forwarded email:
    To: list_recipient@example.com
    (and the random_user is lost..)

I propose you put the original To recipient to Cc first if necessary to avoid this situation.

  3. Render Emoji's in Quick View Rendering of Message

Currently the quick view of a message does not support emoji's they just render as a square.

  4. The ability to search for multiple users on the same domain and un-suppress them all at one time would be extremely valuable.

  5. Include the ability for people to respond to emails within the web interface in the event of deliverability failures.

Sometimes certain emails won't deliver when forwarded due to DMARC verification problems.

It would be incredibly useful to have the ability to respond to these emails within the web interface instead of having to learn the API and respond to emails that way.

  7. Show messages content up to 30 days

Mailgun only lets you view html content for up to 3 days. I think lots of people will be happy to pay for this feature. This is only thing that makes me think if I should switch to PostMark

  8. Updating the the key value "message-id" to "message_id"

Is it possible to make a suggestion to update your API to not name the key for the message id as "message-id", but instead use an underscore "message_id"?

This name convention conflicts with the dot notation in JS. There is a work around by using bracket notation if another user is having issues, but bracket notation isn't as commonly used as dot notation for most JS developers.

Not sure if that'll conflict with any other languages you support for, but I do know it is always possible, but not encouraged to use dashes with naming keys in PHP arrays as…

  9. Provide deep linking support (universal links) natively

This would mean that Mailgun has to support us uploading the apple-app-site-association file (and equivalent Android file), Maligun would also have to support https request this way.

  10. Allow routing to rebuild messages that fail from dkim

Adding an option to let Mailgun rebuild routed messages if they're going to fail on destination.
For example DKIM signed messages sent to Mailgun that are routed will fail.

  11. Exclude events initiated by bots, or recipient ESP filters resolving open and click tracking URLs

We are noticing a lot of OPEN and CLICK events being reported from same IP address. these could be events initiated by bots, or recipient ESP filters resolving open and click tracking URLs. Currently there is no way to identify such events and exclude them for further use.

  12. Timezone at reporting area doesn't change in case of changes at profile

Timezone at reporting area doesn't change in case of changes at user profile. Now it's always the same on graph - UTC 0 when I change it for example from US/Eastern to Europe/Kiev.

  13. Allow to share links with GUID token to allow access to logs / dashboard without authentification.

For monitoring, it would be very useful if shared links like those used by google, dropbox, monitis etc. were available.

These links should contain an obscure, non-guessable identifier such as a GUID.

  14. Case Study Examples

There is a lot of detail on the Mailgun site to get lost in. Some case study examples would help lessen the learning curve. Some I can think of are:
    1. Using Mailgun with a Wordpress Domain host.
    2. Using Mailgun with popular Newsletter applications.
    3. Setting up multiple Mailgun domains on your DNS host.
    etc.

  15. Separate logs for inbound and outbound mail

Currently the mail log contains both the events for inbound and outbound email. In some cases I only want to see the outbound mail or the inbound mail. I'd be nice if I can somehow limit the log to either of these.

  16. Give us more variables

like %Mailing_List_Name% that we can use in the emails themselves. If we use mailto: in an email, we can add this variable so we can put better info in the Subject: of the reply email.

  17. Inbound sending mail server IP address attribute

As part of the inbound mail parse output to have a field that includes the IP address of the sending email server - what is used as part of the TCP handshake. I realize that mailgun may add this as a header in the mime parse, but would be great to have this already extracted as part of the output. This could be used for additional security and spam checks by the developer. Thank you.

  18. Last time used a SMTP User

I have been checking my domains and SMTP Logins recently.

I realised that some domains have more than 1 SMTP Login due the same domain can manage emails from different services: newsletters, orders, blog, emails sent as a system alert by the operating system...

So now I can see a list of SMTP Users and the creation date, however I have no idea what was the last time I used those SMTP Services. It means I cannot remove an unused SMTP Login (if it exists) due I cannot track when was the last time I used it.

    Can you think…

  19. Improve the search capability of our mailing lists

Currently searches require an exact match. Partial match would be helpful.
