Hello,
We released the new Mailgun Send Logs experience. This builds on the previous release of the Metrics functionality, wrapping up our complete overhaul of the Mailgun Send Reporting experience.
What’s New?
- Logs are now tied directly to the metrics page of the reporting dashboard - this means users can now click through data in their reports to see event-level details in Logs.
- Users can now export data from Logs to save or share
- Logs are no longer tied to one domain, users can now select no domain, one domain, or multiple domains. As well as more filtering including user variables, delivery status messages, and much more.
We thank you for your previous feedback and we hope these changes will give you a better user experience.

Mailgun, first, thanks for the export logs function. I tried it out and this was the message I got.
Export
You have more logs to export than the allowed limit of 1,000.Please visit https://www.mailgun.com/blog/email/your-guide-to-webhooks/ to review other ways to export your data.
Use the export button below to start your download of 1,000 logs.
I think the way this was implemented was rather silly, especially with the 1000 log limit. I want to export all of my logs, and I think other customers think the same. A better approach is to allow the user to export the logs, send it to a background job and email the user a link to download the complete logs. Maybe this could be a feature for customers with a paid plan, but in its current form it's not usable ?

I had to export the same for one of my clients. I've extracted the event logs using Python script using Mailgun API. Here is the script that I used:

April 2024... Still no export... My boss asked me to check if certain emails with specific subjects are correctly sent. We're sending dozens or hundreds of emails each day... Thank you Mailgun for not having the decency to add a BASIC feature such as a simple export... Shame on you...

I see feature request here since 2017. This feature request has 218 votes(maximum I think for any feature request). Still I am not sure why Mailgun development team not taken it seriously. It's a must feature. I see Sendgrid and all other major vendors have this feature....Any reason even after 6 years and maximum votes, Mailgun team don't want to listen to customer requirements ?

I would like the ability to export logs, including filtered logs out to excel or csv format.

You can use Skyvia to allow exporting Mailgun logs: https://skyvia.com/data-integration/mailgun-csv-file-import-and-export. Skyvia is a cloud tool for automatic Mailgun CSV import/export with powerful transformations. You can also export Mailgun ListMembers, Templates, Tags, etc. to CSV automatically on a schedule.

Should be able to export logs. I want a list of all failed recipients, not just bounces.

As a consumer, I need to be able to produce a reliable list of email addresses that did not receive an email from a given set of batches (ie. domain + tag + timeframe), regardless if it was because of a permanent fail/bounce, soft-fails & timeout, delayed bounce, suppression, etc. Understandably, I would need to wait until the batches have completed or timed out before producing this extract.
---
I would like to see an option to apply a filter to the events in the front-end (as I can do already), and then download the details of all the returned log entries as a CSV file.
For instance, if I look for permanent fails for one domain over a short timeframe, I'd like the ability to export the timestamps, addresses, event type, and related messages to a CSV file. The same would go for any temporary failures, deliveries, etc.
I would also like that download option to be for all matching entries; not just those displayed on the current screen or limited by API result size. For example, if I have 100,000 log entries that match the criteria, I'd like to see all 100,000 in the one CSV file. Understandably, that may need to be sent to a background processing thread, similar to how the bounce export is currently done.
The extract should include any email addresses that were already rejected because of a prior filter in Mailgun (ie. hard-bounces or complaints), as well as any that had a delayed bounce.
Thank you! :)

A Client can send hundreds of emails or even thousands of emails.
There is always a need to process the logs and also it is not convenient to see thousands of emails in a paginated view of 25 records.
Therefore, is is absolutely essential to have an option to export the logs to a csv or xls file.

Kind of stunned that you can't export logs. Wow.

An export to CSV would be a great help. Being limited to 4 columns and having to switch back and forth is a huge time suck.

Just a simple CSV export please!

I really don't understand how this isn't a feature. Great product, but this is a huge miss.

We need to keep our email logs forever, it would be important to be able to download all logs before they are removed (max logging is only 30days?)

I would love if it would be possible to export logs. For example, I would like to export unsubscribed users, so the I could remove them from my internal list as well.
