Allow for Shorter SMTP Credentials
t is important to us as a customer to be able to edit our SMTP credentials. Our system is limited to a password character max of 8 characters. I respect you security effort in generating a very long password but, this will not work for us. Please pass this on to those who need to know. Thank you so much for your consideration is this matter.

Hi all,
We have pushed an update out to allow for manually inputting an SMTP password when creating a new credential and resetting the password on a login already created via the UI.

SMTP credential password is too long. Most systems do not allow password that is this long.

Jared Pruett commented
It would be nice to have a domain setting or an option when creating credentials to pick the length.

We cannot use mailgun due to default SMTP password length. Please implement a way to specify the password and/or default length settings.

We can not use mailgun with passwords of this length. Our legacy systems are not compatible with passwords longer 12 characters.

Agreed - the long password breaks many systems like NVRs.

Hi, we want to use our BRAND new printers with mailgun, but we cannot, because the printer manufcaturerers all have a character count limit on SMTP passwords and mailgun forces long passwords, see the problem? :P Thanks in adnvacnendansxdas6t34ui87på

We need the ability to manually set our passwords for services which have a max character limit.

New interface needs to let us create our own password for smtp credentials, as not all devices allow insanely long passwords. Example, our scanner doesn't accept it.
