Option to Duplicate Template in MG Drag and Drop Template Builder
Currently our DnD template builder has a duplicate option, but this only applies to the template version. Some users would prefer the option to make a duplicate which is a completely new template, and not just a new version within the same template
Hello,
We are looking to address full duplication of the template. One questions that sticks out is versions. If a template that also has versions is duplicated would the expectation that the versions are also duplicated in the copy?
Additionally what if we surfaced a unique identifier for a template to effectively allow for sending of the template across any sending domain. So in your API call you would be using the unique ID rather then the template name? That is to say as an option, we are not going to be breaking any integrations that are using the template name currently. Let me know what you think.

The templates feature in Mailgun is essentially useless without the ability to duplicate templates. You will waste a lot of time, trust me.
I suggest to others to use a library such as react-email and generate it on your end.

Anyone find a workaround here? We may need to switch email providers because this is wasting too much of our teams time.
Even an API workaround is good. We try copying templates using the API but it results in the copy not using the visual builder.

Could we prioritise this feature? It's important for us.

I was appalled to find mailgun doesn't have this feature, almost a complete deal breaker and waste of time...
Guess ill have to use HTML for everything.

It's ridiculous mailgun does not have that important feature. You have to redesign email template every time.

Clone the template version and simple use t:version as parameter to use specific version of template

Hi,
Please allow duplication of templates, at the template level.

Some customers may want the option to save blocks in templates, so that these blocks can be reused in multiple templates.

I recommend adding a clone template option, to make it easier to correct naming issues during development.

Please, how is this not possible in '23?

I totally agree. As everyone has mention it's a very basic feature in the market, we might have to search for alternatives to solve this problem.

I agree. It really makes me think twice about using this product when such basic features as duplicating and renaming are missing. Nobody wants to have to recreate a template from scratch every time when it shoudl be so easy to just duplicate an existing one and modify it.

I have to recreate from scratch multiple templates - pretty fustrating

Yes, the visual builder seems like a work in progress. When will you add essential features like duplicating or renaming a template?

It's super needed, since now it's a waste of time recreate the same flow all over again.
