  1. Count clicks as opens or add an extra field with 'aggregated opens'

It would be great if there is a new feature where recipients who click a link inside a campaign are also registered as if they open the mail. If not in the same way then maybe with extra event per recipient and an aggregated 'openthroughclicks' -count for every campaign.

If you think about it it makes perfect sense. You have to open an email to click.

For example MailChimp on this issue:
"Since subscribers have to open a campaign to click a link inside it, we'll consider those clicks as opens even if the tracking image didn't load." …

  2. Include that tag on the page when using the tag_unsubscribe_url

Right now you can let users unsubscribe just from a tag by using tagunsubscribeurl in your email template. This is great.

However, the copy on the page generated by tagunsubscribeurl is very misleading, and potentially could represent a non-compliant email.

    The copy is visible here:
    http://imgur.com/a/8gY2J

Even when you are unsubscribing just from a tag, the copy says "Unsubscribe user@domain.com from mg.domain.com"

There is no mention that you are only unsubscribing from just one tag, so a user who goes through this process will likely think they have unsubscribed from all mails. This could be very…

  3. Enable Fallback Variables

We need to have have "fallback variables" as an option. It is currently available on competing platforms and it's absolutely essential.

For example, if someone uploads a list and it is missing the first name...

Let's say now its: "Hi %first-name%"

this would come out as "Hi" if there was no first name on the list.

However, we need to support fallbacks like: %first-name=Friend% so if there's no name, it comes out as "Hi Friend"

    Please!!

  5. API: possibility to filter events based on our user-variables values

Currently, in the API, there is no way to filter the Events via our user-variables. They get return in the result but still they aren't available on the Filter Field list described on the documentation.

It could be really cool to be able to do so!

  6. User variables fallback / default values

When using user variables, e.g. %recipient.name%, it would be useful to implement a fallback value for when that variable is not present. For example:

    Hello %recipient.name|Customer%

So, for the above the output would be either:

    Hello Jane

or, where the name is not set for the user

    Hello Customer

  7. Error, fail, bounce and reply mails back to sender (application)

Bounce mails dont came back to senders e-mail account, tracking is impossible without API. Routed e-mails need reply information, feature will make Mailgun perfect.

  8. Hi MailGun Team. I suggest you create a new function to let customer can limit the email send out for each domain monthly. Thanks!

  9. Stats for multiple domains

We run a lot of domains (for inbound forwarding) and want to gather daily stats. The only way to do this is to make multiple API calls , 900+ each time. Can we get stats for multiple/all domains at once?

  10. Monitor delivery rates by recipient domain (ESP)

While some of the existing charts/reports on the dashboard are useful, I would really like to know about delivery rates / failures by the domain we are sending to (or ideally ESP... i.e. hotmail/msn centurytel/centurylink/embarmail).

I usually end up hearing about a block or other delivery issue from our users. Short of pulling data over the API and parsing it myself I know of no way to accomplish monitoring this currently.

  11. Please support DMARC on Mailgun and make it easy to deploy

-Please support DMARC on mailgun, and make it easy to deploy.
    - Generate useful TXT entries (just like you already do for SPF and DKIM)
    - Handle the DMARC reports
    - Present DMARC reports in your control panel after decoding the ZIPed XML files the providers send.
    - Convert DMARC failures (and successes?) into web hooks, events and log entries.

  12. Add ability to control which fields are sent when using Routes, and then allow the inbound message to be forwarded from Mailgun servers...

Usecase for this is: I'm using Routes to receive inbound mail to a certain domain. And I want to write some code to make decisions on whether to forward that inbound mail on to another email inbox or maybe just discard it. Currently, my only choice to implement a system like this is to have the entire email, with attachments, posted to my web hook, and then I pull out every part of the mail, plus attachments (storing them locally), and if I want to forward on the email, I have to reassemble the message, (with attachments :)) and then…

  14. Notify account holder when reaching max routes limit

The maximum limit for routes is 5,000. Currently Mailgun does not notify you when you're close to the limit. This is especially risky if you create lots of routes programmatically via the Routes API.

  15. Do not send duplicate email to same recipient in different list

Recipient in different list would receive only one copy of message, this is a basic ESP feature that everyone supports. But currently if a address is on more than one list than recipient will receive messages that are sent to each list, the only way to avoid this is to remove the email from other list.

Please add a workaround for this basic ESP feature.

  16. Set up a way to archive outgoing emails.

We send a lot of emails that are custom to the individual and would like a simple way to save them. Our email generators are on 20 or so amazon instances and we spin up and shut them down as needed. So we have 3 options: save the file and hope to dl before the box dies, send bcc to a stable box, or post to a webhook on a stable box.

  18. Provide a "Spam Probability" API

There should be an endpoint where you can submit the MIME of a message and get a spam probability score to determine deliverability.

  19. Add admin users free for limited time

Problem: Your free-level customers who need help from a third-party tech shouldn't have to choose between paying to add a user or turning off 2FA.

Backstory: My host detected a setup problem and and asked me for admin access, but your feature to add users is behind your paywall. That meant I had to either pay for a user that wouldn't need long-term access or temporarily turn off my two-step verification. The later was the obvious-but-disturbing choice, and I considered quitting Mailgun over it.

Proposed solution: Enable the add-user feature for base-level accounts for one extra admin user only, and…
