  3. Provide a list of known domains that DO / Do NOT verify email addresses.

Provide a list of known domains that DO / Do NOT verify email addresses. (Especially ones that Do but had some sort of error on a spcific call and returned "unknown". While Gmail typically returns good data I had a few that would return "unknown" thus I (initiially) stopped checking emails from that domain.

  4. Provide Details as to why an Email Address fails validation

Currently the Email Validation API may report an email address as failing validation for a multitude of reason some of which may or many not be important enough to the user to consider the email address as invalid.

For example if an email address is parsable, the domain has an MX record BUT Mailgun cannot connect to the mail server at that exact moment of validation the address is marked as not valid. Since connecting to the mail server may be a temporary issue the user may not wish to consider that a failure.

  5. Add an API entry point to check if an email belongs to a well-known temporary/disposable email provider

Add an API entry point to check if an email belongs to a well-known temporary/disposable email provider.

Currently, if we want to filter out disposable email address we have to monitor corresponding domain manually based on our rejection logs.

Given its position, Mailgun has probably better ways to identify disposable email address domains -- either through manual monitoring of the disposable mail offering or by cross-compiling the rejection logs of its customers.
